Your lesson pathway

Progress with a clear process.

A professional method without unnecessary theory: understand your riding, make useful changes, then apply them to the trail and watch yourself grin at the difference.

01

Introduce.

Discuss your goals, experience, confidence and current challenges. Don't be shy, the better we understand you - the quicker we find a plan that suits best.

02

Analyze

We review bike setup, movement patterns and trail habits. Then we'll introduce corrective changes.

03

Coach

We'll use concise explanations, demonstrations and personal cues so learning retention is prioritized. For any long-term sessions, we'll try our best to ensure the same coach works with you.

04

Apply

We practice changes in controlled environments and on suitable trails and review if we've reached our intended goals. This is where riders start to feel considerable differences in their riding. For our expert riders, we'll use timed training and BrakeAce to measure objective improvements.

05

Sustain

We measure your success not with what you achieve with us but with how your progress tracks after your lessons. Clarity of what worked for you and how to keep improving to unlock your potential is exactly what we deliver.

LUKE

The lessons were very detailed and specific in the areas that you needed me to work on. Your explanation and example for the techniques were very easy to understand. You pay large attention to minute details that is easily over looked but makes a big difference at high speeds. I like how simple and focused lessons are, yet they are able to make a huge impact on my confidence and skill especially in technical trails.

ERIC WONG

We had a great experience with Piyush. He helped us with our body position and cornering fundamentals which greatly helped our riding. My son and I are advanced riders able to tackle grade 5/6 trails in NZ and double black and even pro lines in Whistler. Piyush definitely is knowledgeable and has the experience to spot adjustments even if it’s minor changes that improve your riding overall.

I highly recommend to take his private lessons.

Not sure what level you are? That’s okay.

Our coaching ranges from riders new to mountain biking through to advanced and performance riders. We’ll match the session to your current riding. Read the Level 1–4 system below if you would like more detail.

Level 1 – Foundational

For riders who have not mountain biked before but are already confident and stable on a bicycle. Riders should be able to stand with level pedals, use both brakes smoothly and come to a controlled stop without their feet wobbling.

Before joining, riders should be able to:

  • Ride standing with level pedals.
  • Stop smoothly using both brakes.
  • Maintain balance and stability when coming to a stop.

What riders will develop:

  • Stable body position and balance.
  • Confident braking and basic bike control.
  • The foundations needed to begin riding trails.
Level 2 – Early Trail Riding

For riders who have started exploring mountain bike trails independently and can ride easier green and blue trails, such as Hammies, Hot Rod or Morning Glory, with relative ease.

Riders are generally comfortable with:

  • Riding beginner and easier intermediate trails.
  • Standing through descents with level pedals.
  • Controlling speed and direction on simple terrain.

What riders will develop:

  • Foundational body positions for descending.
  • Cornering technique and improved traction.
  • Greater confidence and control on the trail.
Level 3 – Intermediate

For intermediate and strong-intermediate riders who are comfortable on Grade 3 and Grade 4 trails and are beginning to explore easier black trails.

Riders are generally comfortable with:

  • Maintaining control on Grade 3 and Grade 4 terrain.
  • Riding steeper, faster and more technical sections.
  • Beginning to challenge themselves on black trails.

What riders will develop:

  • Refined body movement while staying centred on the bike.
  • Pressure and traction through corners.
  • Better timing and compression on jumps.
  • Greater consistency across technical terrain.
Level 4 – Advanced

For experienced riders who are comfortable on Grade 5 trails and are beginning to venture into Grade 6 terrain. Riding should feel intuitive on familiar trails and remain consistent when the rider is challenged.

Riders are generally comfortable with:

  • Riding Grade 5 terrain with consistency.
  • Exploring Grade 6 trails and advanced features.
  • Making effective decisions at speed and under pressure.

What riders will develop:

  • More refined and instinctive technique.
  • Greater speed, efficiency and adaptability.
  • Consistency when riding challenging terrain.
  • Advanced progression toward performance and race goals.
