A critical component that focuses on teaching you the correct movement required for positions and skills essential for mountain biking. This element emphasizes the importance of engaging specific muscles to achieve the right posture, balance, and body movement.
By understanding Active and Passive movements, you'll learn how to maneuver your bike with control while broadening your range of movement.
ACTIVE MOVEMENT
CORE SKILLS: RESPONDING TO THE TRAIL
Knowing when to execute a technique is as crucial as knowing how. Our Core Skills element expands your understanding of various scenarios you might encounter on the trail. Whether it's mastering a challenging jump or navigating a rough rock garden with speed and flow, we help you discover the strategic timing and execution of movements, laying a solid foundation for your riding skills.
As you progress, our teaching focuses on ingraining physical movements that feel comfortable and inspire confidence and control on the bike. This gradual development helps you move away from inefficient and risky maneuvers, fostering a more proactive and safer riding approach.
Our Muscle Memory training ensures that even in fatigue, your techniques remain sharp, reducing the risk of crashes and injuries.

I’m Piyush Chavan and I run Treadmark.
Having raced internationally whilst representing my country - I’ve found my purpose in service of a community, helping clients reach their goals and more importantly providing correct insight into their riding ability as a tool to use for sustained progress over time.My love for articulating my experience and mountain bike techniques has driven me to start Treadmark - A platform for like minded individuals like me to succeed.
My favourite trail in Queenstown has to be Blugazi and my favourite program to coach is all of them!
